What is PLL? What’s a pregnancy resource center?
PLL is a Pregnancy Resource Center…but what is a pregnancy resource center?
TLDR: Check out this short video.
A Pregnancy Resource Center is a safe place to come when you think you are pregnant and you didn’t plan to be!
An unplanned pregnancy can certainly leave you feeling stressed and scared, with no one to turn to. At PLL, we can discuss your options and help you feel more knowledgeable and comfortable with your situation. Above all, we want you to make an informed decision about your pregnancy and know all the resources that are available to you.
We are here to help – whether you just want someone to talk to, need a medical grade pregnancy test, an ultrasound, or other service.
No judgment – just compassionate & confidential care with resources at no cost to you.
What does PLL offer?
The short answer: a lot! We couldn’t possibly list all our services in one blog post, but to name a few:
Our services include:
Abortion Information
If you are pregnant, you may find yourself wondering what your options are. There is undoubtedly a lot of information out there, but how do you sort through it? The decisions you’re facing are stressful enough as it is. Our goal is to equip you with the facts about abortion so you can make an informed decision about your pregnancy.
Medical-Grade Pregnancy Testing
Are you pregnant? Do you think you may be pregnant? It’s important to confirm whether you’re pregnant or not [1]. We offer free medical-grade testing and confidential results, as well as someone to talk to about it.
Ultrasounds
A pregnancy test gives you one kind of information about what’s going on inside your body – it shows whether your body is producing hCG, a hormone produced during pregnancy. An ultrasound is also important because it will show a lot more about what is happening inside you [2]. It’s the logical next step if you have a positive pregnancy test. At PLL, we can provide free first-trimester ultrasounds. You can schedule a free appointment online.
Pregnancy and Parenting Information
Parenting can be a scary thought for many. Depending on where you are in life, your future goals, financial status, single parenting — all these play a factor. Our job here is to help you by walking with you as you decide what works best for you and your circumstances. We provide information and resources, including parenting classes if desired, to give you the confidence to be in control as you move forward.
Adoption Information, Referrals, and Support
Adoption is not for everyone, but it is an option in an unexpected pregnancy. For many, adoption has a certain stigma surrounding it, but the truth is it has come a very long way from where it used to be. If you think you may be pregnant and want to know more about the adoption option, then contact us today.
Resources & Supplies
We offer free maternity and baby clothing, prenatal vitamins, diapers & wipes, formula, and much more.
Medical Consultation
Our experienced medical professionals are available for whatever you want to know—no questions relating to pregnancy are off-limits. You will also be provided with some particularly helpful resources to help you navigate your way down the road that is best for you.
Community Resources
We work with many organizations in our community that share our passion for women. We can connect you to the help you may not have known was available to you. A few examples of help that might be available include housing and utility assistance, furthering your education, STD/STI testing, food banks, smoking cessation, and many more.
Mentoring for Guys
Guys are parents too, and our Man2Man mentors can help with the challenges that dads face during pregnancy and beyond.
