If you’re researching abortion options in the Branson West, MO area, PLL Women’s Resource Center offers free pregnancy confirmation, ultrasounds, and STI testing so you can make an informed decision.
If you’re leaning toward having an abortion or taking the abortion pill, you may be wondering why PLL’s services are necessary. There’s a lot to consider when facing pregnancy – especially if this pregnancy was unexpected. It’s our goal to help you gather all of the information needed to make the best decision for your situation.
There are several questions to be answered when considering your pregnancy/abortion options, and we’re here to help you find those answers.
Q: Am I really pregnant?
A: It’s possible to receive a false result on a pregnancy test, and this can happen for a variety of reasons. At PLL, we offer free, medical-grade pregnancy tests that provide instant results with 99% accuracy. There’s peace of mind in knowing that your results are valid.
Q: How far along am I?
A: Gestational age – or how far along the pregnancy is – matters in terms of what options are available to you. The safety and effectiveness of some abortion options change as the gestational age changes. An ultrasound (which we offer for free at PLL Women’s Resource Center in Branson West) is a more reliable way [1] to find gestational age than estimating based on the date of your last period.
Q: What about ectopic pregnancies?
A: Cleveland Clinic describes an ectopic pregnancy as what happens “when a fertilized egg implants outside of your uterus.” [2] An ectopic pregnancy cannot develop, and this condition can be life-threatening to a woman if left untreated. Ruling out ectopic pregnancy is another reason an ultrasound is so important.
Q: Can I get an abortion if I have an STI (sexually transmitted infection)?
A: Untreated STIs can cause health complications (and many STIs don’t even have symptoms [3]), and it’s possible for STI-causing bacteria to travel into your reproductive system during an abortion. [4] At PLL, we offer free testing and treatment for some common STIs.

Q: How do I know what options are available to me?
A: Some people feel rushed to make a decision about their pregnancy. It’s understandable to not want to feel overwhelmed evaluating all of your options, but we believe you have the right to be fully informed about those options. We also believe that it’s important to get all of the details from people who do not profit from your decision.
At PLL Women’s Resource Center in Branson West, we are a nonprofit organization. All of our services are free because we truly want to help you through this process. We will help you learn about your options and what they involve, and we can also help to connect you to local resources to help meet needs you might have.
