An unexpected pregnancy can mess up your plans for your life, especially if you are still in school.  It can also bring about some big feelings: stress, anxiety, fear, and even joy. If you are unexpectedly pregnant and still in school, you may be feeling worried and asking yourself questions like:

Can I finish high school/college and get through a pregnancy?Pregnant woman walks on sidewalk on a campus with fall foliage and green grass

Yes! It’s totally possible to finish school while you’re pregnant. Many of our clients have done this, and we are experienced in helping you find the best approach for you.

Remember that this pregnancy does not cancel all of the goals and plans you had for yourself. It might just mean you achieve those goals differently or with some extra help, and that’s ok!

We’ve got some basic tips to remember when planning for school while pregnant:

  • Find Your Support: Support people are priceless, whether that’s your partner, parents, or another family member. Our staff at PLL are willing and ready to be part of your support system!
  • Create a Plan: Make a list of helpful steps you can take to ensure your schooling success. This might include things like speaking with the school counselor to find out what educational resources are available to you.
  • Consider Non-Traditional Education Programs: These days, there are lots of high school[1] and college[2] options that are off-campus, virtual, and online – no need to be in a classroom to complete your education.PS: PLL is happy to help you with all of these steps!
